Welcome to the operator community. Start here and introduce your site.

Quick intro from me: I am Kim, Head of Operations here, and I have spent the last decade launching dating sites on white label platforms. This space is for the people actually running sites, not the agencies selling to them. Reply with what you are building, the niche you are in, and the one thing you are stuck on right now. The more specific you are, the more useful the answers you get back.

How much capital do you actually need to launch a dating site in 2026?

Everyone quotes a different number, usually whatever suits what they are selling. From what I see, the honest minimum is platform fees plus a real marketing budget for the first 90 days, because organic alone will not fill a site fast enough to create liquidity. I want to build a realistic range here. If you launched in the last 18 months, what did month one to month three actually cost you, and where did the money mostly go?

What does your first 90 day plan look like? Share your playbook.

I am putting together a 90 day launch checklist for new operators and I want it grounded in reality, not theory. If you could only do five things in your first 90 days, what would they be and in what order? I will compile the responses into a shared resource and credit everyone who contributes.

The single biggest mistake I see first-time operators make

Mine is launching with an empty site and no plan for the cold start problem. A dating site with no members is worthless to the first member who joins, so you have to solve liquidity before you spend heavily on traffic. What is the mistake you wish someone had talked you out of before your first launch?

Niche first or audience first? How did you decide what to build?

Two schools of thought. One says pick a niche with weak incumbents and strong intent, then find the audience. The other says start from an audience you can already reach cheaply, then pick the niche that fits. I have done both and the second worked better for me, but I would love to hear how others decided.

Realistic timeline from launch to first paying member?

New operators often expect revenue in week one and then panic in week three. In my experience the first paying member usually lands once you have enough active profiles to create a believable inbox. What was your actual gap between launch day and first payment, and what shortened it?
