Fancying Frank and Avoiding Ashley

41% of women think Frank Lampard is best looking England World Cup footballer.
Not a single woman wants to marry Ashley Cole.

London, 11th June 2010 – Frank Lampard has cleared the board in a survey asking which of our English World Cup footballers women fancy and there are hoards of women across the UK lining up to become Frank’s next WAG.

Frank picked up the top spots in the best looking category, as well as best hair, best eyes and best height, (6ft 1.5 inches in case you’re wondering). It appears that the ‘Fat Frank’ crowd taunts have not impacted the ladies’ opinion either, as he also claimed the top spot for best torso, as well as best boyfriend and who they think would be best in bed!

The survey was conducted by online dating site singles365.com which asked 1,160 single women which England footballers got their heart a flutter. When asked to play the game ‘Snog, Marry or Avoid’ with the team, Jamie Carragher won the snog vote, with 67% of women wishing they could pucker up with him. Frank Lampard was the man they most wanted to walk down the aisle to, with 28% saying they would marry him.

Ashley Cole was not only the clear winner in the avoid category picking up a whopping 60% of the vote – he was also the only footballer who picked up no votes in the footballer you would marry or best boyfriend category.

The top ten England footballers women fancy overall are:

1st: Frank Lampard
2nd: Steven Gerrard
3rd: David James
4th: Joe Cole
5th: Rio Ferdinand
6th: Jamie Carragher
7th: Peter Crouch
8th:John Terry
9th: Shaun Wright-Phillips
10th: Emile Heskey

Katie Mowe from Singles365.com commented ‘Christine Bleakley better watch out as it seems most single women in the UK won’t be tuning into the World Cup to check out Frank Lampard’s football skills! Ashley Cole’s results came as no huge surprise but we think that Steven Gerrard may give Frank a run for his money now he’s Captain – especially if he picks up a much bigger award in South Africa next month.”

If Ashley’s dire results were not warning enough to all the England team, perhaps the fact that 28% of women said that they would sell their story to the press if they had a fling with a footballer may encourage best behaviour!
